Allows solar energy to be used to maintain the battery charge, reducing the need to periodically recharge the motor using a power supply.
Ideal solution for battery-powered motorized roller shutters and blinds, especially in installations where a permanent connection to the mains is to be avoided.
The GIBIDI GBD-12562 is the solar panel designed for the BATTERY BIDI automation system for blinds and roller shutters.
The panel allows solar energy to be used to contribute to the recharging and maintenance of the charge of the battery built into the motor, completing the concept of automation without a permanent electrical connection that characterizes the BATTERY BIDI range.
Maintaining the charge using solar energy
BATTERY BIDI motors have a built-in battery and can therefore operate without being permanently connected to the mains.
GIBIDI expressly states that the charge can be maintained using solar panels.
Using the GBD-12562 therefore makes it possible to use sunlight to keep the system battery powered, reducing how often it is necessary to recharge it using a charger or power supply.
Ideal where electrical power is unavailable
The solar panel is particularly useful in installations where the choice of a BATTERY BIDI motor is specifically due to the absence of electrical wiring near the blind or roller shutter.
The combination of a motor with a built-in battery and a solar panel further reduces dependence on the mains, without having to install a permanent power supply to the headbox or winding system.
For BATTERY BIDI motorized blinds and roller shutters
The solar panel is one of the power accessories presented by GIBIDI together with the BATTERY BIDI range. In the brochure, it is shown both in the section dedicated to BATTERY BIDI motors and in the section concerning the 50 Nm system.
It is therefore a particularly useful accessory for completing installations of:
battery-powered motorized roller blinds
roller sun-shading systems
battery-powered motorized roller shutters
Solar panel or charger?
The two systems should not necessarily be considered alternatives.
The charger/power supply allows the system to be recharged by temporarily connecting it to the mains.
The GBD-12562 solar panel, on the other hand, is primarily designed to use solar energy and keep the battery charged during normal use, reducing the need for recharging from the mains.
In the brochure dedicated to BATTERY BIDI 50 Nm, GIBIDI describes the optional solar panel as a solution that allows the battery to be charged using renewable energy, eliminating the need for frequent recharging and connection to the mains.

Compatibility note
Here, I would not yet specify in the product sheet that GBD-12562 is indiscriminately compatible with all four motors.
The brochure clearly shows compatibility of the range with the solar panel, but we now know from the OEM instructions that there are two different connection systems: USB Type-C for Ø25/Ø35 and 3.5 mm Jack for Ø45. The brochure does not explain how the 12562 handles these two connections.
Therefore, until we see the OEM page concerning the panel, I would keep the product sheet deliberately accurate and generic regarding the BATTERY BIDI system, without promising specific electrical compatibility that has not yet been verified.
