GIBIDI 6 Nm Ø35 mm battery-powered tubular motor for roller blinds

The GIBIDI GBD-EWSETND356 BATTERY BIDI is a Ø35 mm battery-powered tubular motor designed for motorising roller blinds and roll-up screens requiring more torque than the small Ø25 mm tubular motors.

The designation 6/24 identifies the motor's two main mechanical characteristics: 6 Nm of nominal torque and a rotational speed of 24 revolutions per minute. GIBIDI specifies a maximum weight of 10 kg for this model.

Ø35 mm 6 Nm motor for roller blinds

The 35 mm diameter allows relatively compact dimensions to be maintained while providing a nominal torque of 6 Nm.

The motor is inserted directly inside the blind's winding tube and therefore remains hidden once installation is complete.

Compared with the GIBIDI 1.1 Nm Ø25 mm model, the GBD-EWSETND356 is suitable for screens with more demanding dimensions and weight requirements. Compatibility must nevertheless be assessed by considering the characteristics of the blind, the diameter of the winding tube and the adapters used.

The 10 kg value specified by GIBIDI must be considered the maximum weight indicated by the manufacturer, not a universal lifting capacity independent of the system configuration.

Integrated battery: no direct electrical connection

One of the main advantages of the GIBIDI BATTERY BIDI system is the presence of the integrated battery.

The motor can therefore operate without a permanent direct electrical connection, a particularly useful feature for motorising existing blinds or windows where a power line was not previously installed.

GIBIDI states that the motors in the range provide automatic operation for up to 18 months. The battery can be recharged using a dedicated charger, and the charge can be maintained using a compatible solar panel.

This makes it possible to create a motorised blind while reducing the need for building work or new wiring near the window frame.

Radio receiver and bidirectional system

The GBD-EWSETND356 features an integrated radio receiver and uses the GIBIDI bidirectional communication system.

The GIBIDI brochure indicates that the family is compatible with various control devices, including BRICK, WALL, SEAN and WSEAN, as well as the KUMO WiFi system.

The motor also features an electronic limit switch, eliminating the need for traditional mechanical limit-switch adjustment systems.

One detail to check carefully before installation is the motor length.

The diameter and, above all, the available longitudinal space inside the winding system must therefore be compatible with these dimensions.

Mounting bracket included and adapters to be selected

The motor is supplied complete with the mounting bracket.

The adapters for the winding tube are not universal and must be selected according to the type and dimensions of the tube used in the application.

The adapters must therefore be requested separately, specifying the type of application or the characteristics of the winding tube.

Before purchase, especially when motorising an existing blind, it is advisable to correctly identify the tube on which the motor will be installed.

Battery charging

For motors in the 1.2–6 Nm range, the GIBIDI brochure specifies the Jack or Type-C charger Ref. 12564. The solar panel system for maintaining the charge is also available.

The GBD-EWSETND356 is therefore particularly interesting for those who need to automate a larger roller blind without having a permanent power supply point near the window, while maintaining a clean installation and a motor fully integrated into the winding system.
