GIBIDI 50 Nm Ø45 mm battery-operated tubular motor for roller shutters up to 80 kg

The GIBIDI GBD-EWSETND4550BB BATTERY BIDI 50/10 is GIBIDI's 50 Nm battery-operated tubular motor, developed to motorise heavy and large roller shutters.

With a Ø45 mm motor body, a rated torque of 50 Nm and a maximum weight specified by the manufacturer of 80 kg, it is the most powerful solution among the BATTERY BIDI motors presented in the range.

50 Nm motor for roller shutters up to 80 kg

The designation 50/10 identifies the two main mechanical characteristics:

50 Nm rated torque
10 rpm speed

The high torque enables the motor to handle significantly more demanding applications than the 20 Nm model. In the GIBIDI brochure, the 50 Nm motor is expressly shown installed on a roller shutter, with a maximum weight of 80 kg.

The 80 kg value must nevertheless be considered the maximum weight specified by the manufacturer. Motor selection must also take into account the dimensions and characteristics of the roller shutter, the roller tube, the winding diameter and the mechanical configuration of the installation.

Battery-powered automation without permanent power supply to the motor

The major advantage of the BATTERY BIDI system is the possibility of motorising a roller shutter without having to install a permanent electrical connection directly to the motor.

GIBIDI describes this system as a package consisting of a 50 Nm, 12 V radio-electronic motor and an internal battery with integrated two-way radio receiver.

This solution is particularly interesting for already-installed roller shutters or windows for which no power supply for a tubular motor was originally provided.

The motor is inserted inside the roller tube and remains hidden in the shutter box once installation is complete.

Rechargeable battery and optional solar panel

The battery can be recharged using the dedicated power supply.

For greater autonomy and convenience, GIBIDI also provides the option of adding an optional solar panel. The panel uses solar energy to keep the battery charged, reducing the need for recharging from the mains.

This feature makes the system particularly interesting for installations where both permanent wiring and frequent recharging interventions are to be avoided.

Integrated two-way radio receiver

The system incorporates a two-way radio receiver, eliminating the need to install a separate external radio receiver.

The GIBIDI brochure lists several compatible devices for the BATTERY BIDI 50 Nm system, including the BRICK and WALL transmitters, the SEAN and WSEAN devices, BRICK SUN and the KUMO WiFi system.

This makes it possible to complete the automation by choosing the control system best suited to the installation requirements.

Despite the high available torque, the motor retains the 45 mm tubular diameter.

Before purchase, it is therefore necessary to check both the diameter of the roller tube and the longitudinal space available for installation.

Maximum 20 rotations

An important technical feature of the 50 Nm model is the maximum number of rotations.

GIBIDI specifies a maximum of 20 rotations for GBD-EWSETND4550BB.

This data must be considered when checking compatibility with the roller shutter and with the number of turns required by the winding system.

IP44 protection rating

The motor has an IP44 protection rating, a feature provided by GIBIDI for this class of tubular motors.

Installation must nevertheless be carried out in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and the conditions specified for the entire system.

Anchoring bracket included and adapters to be selected

The motor is supplied complete with anchoring bracket.

The adapters for the roller tube must instead be selected according to the application and are therefore not universal.

The adapters must be requested separately, specifying the type and dimensions of the roller tube on which the motor is to be installed.

When motorising an existing roller shutter, it is therefore important to identify the characteristics of the tube in advance.

Power supply and accessories

For the 50 Nm system, GIBIDI specifies the 3.5 mm Jack type power supply, 12 V 1 A, Ref. 12565 and the Ref. 12562 solar panel.

The GBD-EWSETND4550BB is therefore particularly suitable when a heavy or large roller shutter needs to be automated, up to the weight class specified by GIBIDI, but no permanent electrical power supply is available directly at the installation point.
